T-Mobile US took its rambunctious "uncarrier" message to another level by announcing free unlimited data and texting in 115 countries for business customers and consumers on its Simple Choice plan.
Consumer advocacy organisations have called for government action after a parliamentary report on IT pricing found Australians on average are charged 50 per cent more than people in comparable countries.
The scrutiny applied to Adobe, Apple and Microsoft at last week’s IT pricing inquiry was a small victory for consumers despite each vendor's response not “coming close to a justification for higher prices”, said Matt Levey, head of campaigns at Choice.
Consumers should spoof their IP address and use US forwarding addresses to beat high IT prices in Australia, consumer advocacy group Choice said.
