Talks between union bosses and Telstra have hit a stalemate over the telco’s proposed revival of a contentious redundancy offer for laid-off workers.
Telstra has been informed by the Communications Workers Union (CWU) of a proposed strike and has taken measures to prevent disruption for customers and those not participating in the action.
The CWU has labelled Telstra’s move to slash up to 1400 jobs from it ranks as being driven by “top-down financial targets”.
Telstra is set to cut up to 87 jobs due to the ongoing restructure of its Enterprise Services business.
