Queensland eHealth chief executive Dr Richard Ashby has resigned following allegations of an undeclared relationship involving an individual linked to the replacement of the state’s Patient Administration System (PAS).
Parliament this morning passed legislation to allow citizens to opt out of My Health Record at any time, and permanently delete their records.
The Federal Government has announced changes to the My Health Record legislation to ensure police and government agencies can’t access patient information without a court order. The amendments will also allow individuals to delete their record after the opt-out window closes.
Australians will have a My Health Record created for them by the end of the year, unless they opt-out during a three month window which starts today.
