Hyundai's Australian subsidiary is close to completing a company-wide VDI rollout. Head of IT at Hyundai Motor Company Australia, Bala Kothandaraman, said that virtual desktops had been rolled out to around 45 per cent of the organisation's 200 end users, with the remainder to transition in two months.
Virtualisation is still growing strong among IT departments, but at the Australian operations of Hyundai cars, the company is running a 100 per cent virtual infrastructure and the IT head is liking the lack of support calls.

Kothandaraman heads up the IT operations for the company in Australia, and played a vital role in working with Elcom to roll out a new dealer portal where every Hyundai staff member in Australia can log on and access product information, images, marketing material, spare parts information, sales training, business updates, contact details and company annoucements.
