The federal government’s Ambassador for Cyber Affairs has literally cried ‘fake news’ in response to criticism of the country’s privacy protections made by a United Nation Special Rapporteur.
The Australian government has said there will be consequences for states breaking international norms in cyberspace, and is prepared to take "military measures" in response to malicious cyber attacks.
The government's International Cyber Engagement Strategy will be released on Wednesday and be focused on the Indo-Pacific region, Australia's inaugural Ambassador for Cyber Affairs Toby Feakin said today.
