Singapore Airlines has adopted a passenger reconciliation system at Changi Airport in an effort to save traveller processing time.
The VeriPax system is high-speed and processes passengers in real time using information from 2D barcodes printed on boarding passes, according to the vendor. It allows passengers with frequent flyers and no checked luggage to bypass check-in counters.
Changi Airport group director, Yeo Kia Thye, said the system provides a much simpler process compared to previous systems.
“Passengers today are increasingly embracing self-service options. The VeriPax PBS simplifies the airport processes, benefiting both airlines and passengers with a more user-friendly experience,” Thye said in a statement.
Singapore Airlines is the second major Asian airline to deploy VeriPax, with Cathay Pacific being the first.
