Austereo CIO welcomes Ooyala Australian operations

Video platform provider expands into Australia

Video platform provider, Ooyala, has expanded into Australia. The company already does business in Australia with media companies such as the Austereo group, and plans to use its Australian presence as a springboard into South East Asia.

Austereo Group CIO, Ross Forgione, said the company uses the platform to manage video assets across the organisation.

“And now Ooyala is an even better option, given it’s always better to do business with a company that’s investing in the local market,” he said in a statement.

Ooyala is headquartered in Silicon Valley and has offices in New York, London, and Paris. It offers its video platform as software-as-a-service, managing transcoding, publishing, analysing, and increasing revenues from online video assets.

The company has appointed former Adobe executive, John Treloar, as managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Austereo joins a list of international customers that includes Telegraph Media Group, Arsenal Football Club, Electronic Arts and Red Bull.

Ooyala also recently added several features to its offering, including video content monetisation for the iPhone and iPad, 'TV Everywhere', a video platform with paywall authentication and a partnership with Akamai to expand the global footprint of the high definition network.
