Information security company Bridge Point Communications will take over the assets and staff of data centre specialist, Server Central, on 30 June once due diligence is completed.
Server Central staff will move to Bridge Point's office in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, over the next two months, with Server Central's managing director, Andrew George, instated as a director. No redundancies are planned at this stage.
Bridge Point managing director, Rob Siganto, said in a statement that the merger would mean the two companies could respond to the changing needs of customers.
"It strengthens Bridge Point in the areas of virtualization, storage and data management so we can now provide full coverage to our customers," Siganto said.
“Our enhanced data centre practice will be a complementary component to our network and security offerings to service our clients in the burgeoning virtualization market but our main goal remains the same — to ensure the security and availability of our customers’ information assets."
According to George the merger made sense as Server Central has worked with Bridge Point in the past.
"In addition to our complementary offerings, the companies are a good cultural fit," said George. "We both have a very strong focus on customer relationships and people.”
