ASX up 61 points at 2pm

At 2pm today the ASX 200 was up 61 points to 4725. All sub-indices were up with Energy and Information Technology the strongest, both with a 2.3% rise.

Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) was up $2.05 to $52.59 as the stock continued to be lifted by its oil discovery in West Africa.

Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) was up $1.21 to $61.57 on news the company expects the diamond business recover in 2010 and the recent sale of more Alcan assets . BHP Billiton (ASX:BHP) moved up 39c to $38.39

Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) continues to power ahead, rising another $1.80 to $56.59

CSL (ASX:CSL) dropped 8c as the organisation works through negotiations with unions.

Semi-conductor technology company Bluglass Limited (ASX:BLG) continued its months long share slump, dropping 2% to 20.5c

Mining services provider Boart Longyear (ASX:BLY) was up almost 5% to 32c with more than 134 million shares trading. Boart Longyear recently raised $187M to repay its debts.
