M2 expands MVNE agreement with Optus

M2 Telecommunications Group (ASX:MTU) has extended its arrangement with Optus as the official aggregator of Optus wholesale 3G services.

The parties had extended their agreement for a further three and a half years until September 2013.

M2 has been the official aggregator – or Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) – for Optus since May 2006, through its M2 Wholesale division.

“It was our MVNE appointment by Optus which sparked the formation of M2 Wholesale, which from a standing start in 2006 has grown into a core, profitable arm of the group with divisional revenues in excess of $130 million per annum,” M2 CEO Vaughan Bowen said.
