Spark (ASX:SKI) unit ETSA wins NBN deal

Utility infrastructure asset investment company Spark Infrastructure (ASX:SKI) has revealed that its 49%-owned subsidiary, ETSA Utilities, has been awarded an NBN construction contract.

ETSA, the remainder of which is owned by the Cheuna Kona Group, has won the deal to construct the passive optical fibre network in Willunga, one of the five cities selected for the initial rollout of the NBN.

ETSA is a South Australian electricity distributor which also has a longtime presence in the telecom and infrastructure markets.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
