Redflex recalls red light cameras on Hume Hwy

Photo enforcement company Redflex Holdings (ASX:RDF) has announced it has removed from operation faulty red light photo enforcement cameras on the Hume Highway in Victoria.

The company said it had been informed that of nine incidences over four years whereby the cameras have falsely reported a speeding infringement that led to “actions being taken wrongly by the police against drivers.”

The fault is extremely rare, and involved the camera's reference clocks briefly falling out of synchronisation, Redflex said. The cameras will be fixed before they are reinstalled.

The possible financial impact of the recall was not disclosed. RDF shares are today trading unchanged at $2.440.
