HTC announces One availability

The HTC One smartphone will be available in Australia from Tuesday 23 April

The HTC One smartphone will be available in Australia from Tuesday 23 April, the company announced today.

All major Australian telcos — Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile — will begin taking pre-orders for One Android smartphone from tomorrow.

The device will be available in stores from Tuesday 23 April.

The flagship One was unveiled back in February at multiple events in New York and London, but the launch has been delayed by component supply issues.

The handset will be sold on a variety of post-plan plans, but each telco is pushing a "hero" offer.

Telstra will sell the HTC One on its $60 plan with a $10 handset repayment per month (for a total of $70 per month over 24 months). The plan includes $600 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 1GB of data per month.

The HTC One can also be purchased outright through Telstra stores for $768. Telstra is also the only telco in Australia to sell the black variant of the HTC One.

Optus will sell the HTC One for $3 per month on its $60 plan over 24 months ($63 per month). The plan includes $650 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 1.5GB of data per month.

Vodafone will sell the HTC One on a total of six post-paid contract plans over 24 months, but the hero offer appears to be $3 per month on the company's $60 plan ($63 per month).

The $60 Plan includes $700 worth of standard and international calls & MMS messages, unlimited SMS messages and 1.5GB of data per month.

Virgin Mobile will also sell the HTC One on various post-paid plans, but the hero offer appears to be $3 per month on the 'Big Plan' $59 over 24 months ($62 per month).

The Virgin Mobile plan includes $700 worth of calls and MMS messages, unlimited MMS messages and 3GB data per months.
