Rackspace Hosting has promoted its director of operations, Angus Dorney, to the role of Australia and New Zealand director and general manager.

Dorney replaced A/NZ country manager Mark Randall who left Rackspace this month after seven years.

Dorney will be responsible for continuing the growth of the company’s regional operations including the Sydney data centre which opened in August 2012. The facility was built by Digital Realty.

Prior to joining Rackspace, he was Blue Star Group’s New South Wales general manager.

In a statement, Dorny said he looked forward to overseeing public, private, and hybrid cloud hosting solutions for A/NZ customers.
