Australian and Chinese edutech companies establish partnerships

Australian edutech startup, Inkerz, to be incorporated into Yifang Digital Technology's tablet PCs and other devices

Australian edutech startup, Inkerz, will tap into the Chinese market with it signing Memorandums of Understanding with Chinese companies, Shenzhen Yifang Digital Technology and Shijiazhuang Dazhong Network Communication.

The NSW-based startup was founded last year and is an online collaboration platform that takes handwritten words, graphs or annotations and turns it into digital form in real time. It will be incorporated into Yifang Digital Technology's tablet PCs and other devices that it manufactures and sells.

Dazhong Network Communication - which deals with multimedia teaching controls, computer network design and software development - will be the exclusive distributor for the Hebei Province of China.

The Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events, Stuart Ayres, welcomed the partnerships.

"It is estimated by 2017, the value of China's online education market will reach A$36 billion so there is enormous benefit to NSW in exchanging knowledge and ideas with China in this sector,” he said in a statement.

In addition to these partnerships, StudyNSW, which is a division of NSW Trade and Investment that is developing an international edutech marketing strategy, is organising for 10 NSW edutech startups to showcase their tech to potential Chinese partners and investors.

The edutech startups are: Chatty Kidz, Literatu, Inkerz, Funetics, 2and2 (Koala Academy), Composeright, ELLA, Intersective, Skwirk Online Education and LearnCube.
