The University of Adelaide is looking for a CIO to drive the strategic development and delivery of its technology and infrastructure group made up of 185 staff.
Paul Duldig, vice-president (services and resources) at the University of Adelaide told CIO the new position was created largely in response to the university's "increasing focus on e-learning and IT across education and research portfolios."
The institution – which claimed it is consistently ranked among the top 1 per cent of universities worldwide – recently launched a 10-year plan to enhance its e-learning and IT capacity to meet the changing needs of students and research.
According to Duldig, the university plans to treble its investment in these areas and "commit to a transformation that will see it recognised as Australia's most distinctive university."
The role has a strong focus on strategic planning and business alignment and managing people, vendors and budgets, the university said.
Potential candidates also need to have a “proven track record in managing large IT functions, delivering significant strategic plans and possess a high degree of business acumen while being an advocate for technology transformation across the university,” the university added.
University of Adelaide is expecting to pay between $200,000 and $250,000.
